Preschool is off to a great start!

The first week of preschool at Benson Hill went wonderfully!  The Children (and Parents) had a good time meeting their new teachers and learning about their classrooms.  It is so fun to be back in the school routine, making new friends, learning new things and enjoying all that Benson Hill has to offer.

One more meeting for Parents before preschool starts

Parent Only Meetings are scheduled for next week, September 6th, 7th or 8th from 6:30 to 9:00pm.  Each class will meet independently in their classrooms and with their teacher.  Classroom duties, class jobs, and class specific information will be discussed.  This is a wonderful opportunity to meet the other parents in your child’s class and have any questions answered that you may have.

Toddlers class meets September 6th 6:30-9

Wednesday 2′s class meets September 7th 6:30-9

Thursday 2′s meets September 8th 6:30-9

Threes class meets September 8th 6:30-9

Fall Orientation is August 30th for all new and returning families

Fall Orientation is coming up on August 30th from 7-8:30pm.  This is an adult only event where enrolled families get to learn what Benson Hill Co-op is all about.  We are experimenting with a new format so this will be a refreshing orientation even for the families who have been with the program for years.  Remember to bring along your completed registration packets (these can be found under Enrollment) and checkbook for your tuition payment.

Back-to-School Picnic

Be sure to mark your calendar for the Welcome Back Picnic on August 27, 2011.  The picnic will start at 11:00 am and end at 1:00 pm.  Bring your lunch and blanket and let your kids play on the playground!

Playscape Work Party

This Saturday, May 14th at 10am.  Any help is greatly appreciated. If you missed any required cleaning nights this year, please plan to attend this event or the Pack Up day scheduled for June 2nd.  Childcare will be provided.

Open House: Tuesday, May 3rd 5-7pm

Get ready for next year at the annual BHCP open house!  This is a great time to bring your child to see his/her new classroom and chat with the teacher & new incoming families.

Here you can also choose your classroom job for next year and sign up. It’s also a good time to “learn the ropes” from current year’s class chair if you are taking that role.

Going Once…Going Twice…SOLD!!!

SAVE THE DATE!!!  Saturday, April 30th from 6-10 PM

Not only is it the day of our Spring Auction, it is the day of our MANDATORY ALL-SCHOOL MEETING where all families vote in the new members for the 2011-2012 Preschool Board and pass the 2011-2012 budget. One member per family is only necessary to attend. The meeting begins 6PM sharp and ends right before the fun stuff begins.

BHCP 2011 AUCTION – “SECOND CHANCE PROM” – Line up those babysitters and bring your family and friends to our annual Spring Auction. On Saturday, April 30th, you’ll be among the BHCP community not only having fun but also raising funds for the preschool. The Chicks of Cha-Ching have a few new things brewing up for this event. So you wouldn’t want to miss it! More information about auction and raffle items will be announced as the event gets closer.

Dinner and other snacks will be provided.  As we mingle and eat, there will be 3 events unfolding.

1. Raffle – We will purchase tickets and the money we spend on tickets will go towards our own family’s fundraising goal. Put your ticket in the envelope associated with the item you like. With any luck, your ticket will be pulled out! When your name is called it is your chance to act like those people on the Price Is Right!

2. Silent Auction – Items will be set up on tables in the choir room and church entry hall. When you see something you like, write down your bid. When bidding is closed, you will receive item if you are highest bidder.

3. Live Auction – This part is always so exciting! You will have a number to raise up! Like on TV! Chris, the auctioneer, will describe the item and set the opening bid. And then the war is on! EEK! Going once, twice SOLD!
